Biography

Early years
I was born in Maryland, and grew up in Northern Virginia (NOVA). My first memories are from our house in Pimmit Hills. Later we moved to Sterling where my father’s family ran a trucking business.
Grade school
I attended Vienna Junior Academy in Vienna VA for grades one through eight. This is the same school my father attended as a youth. Both my grandmothers taught here although they retired before I got to their class room, probably a good choice!

It was here that I first started really learning about computers mostly by way of playing games during lunchtime on the Commodore 64s that were available. I enjoyed going to school here and made some good friends.
High school
I attended Highland View Academy in Hagerstown MD for grades nine through twelve. This is the same school my mother attended. It was here that I got into basketball and guitar. I didn't enjoy going to school here although I did make a few good friends. It was here that I wrote my first song.
College
I attended Walla Walla College in Walla Walla WA for a year. To get there I took the Greyhound bus from Fairfax VA there with my Amiga computer monitor on my lap: quite an experience! You meet some very interesting people on the bus!

I came back home and attended George Mason University in Fairfax VA for a few years while working a co-op job at NTIS. I was pretty focused on my education so I squeezed in guitar and basketball when I could. During this time I met my future wife Heather Prouty.
Beyond
I've worked for various companies doing computer work including a company I started with my best friend Justin. I currently work for BAE Systems doing operating systems programming. I still find time to play basketball, guitar, and even a computer game once in a while and of course I spend a lot of time these days with my family.
